A lantern procession has been taken out at Maitighar in Kathmandu demanding in depth investigation of the culprit who fell into the Bheri River after being chased by a Dalit youth of Bheri Municipality-4 of Jajarkot in Chaurjahari Municipality-8 of Rukum.
They also protested against the police intervention on Wednesday when they went to Baluwatar to hand over a memorandum to the Prime Minister.
They also alleged that the incident could not be investigated in depth. They have accused the post-mortem report of manipulating the ethnic genocide perpetrators to the utmost.
MP Laxmi Pariyar said that the government had failed to provide justice in the Soti incident. She said that a lantern procession was taken out in the afternoon to seek justice.
Locals had beaten up 18 people, including Nawaraj Bik, who had gone to sleep in Chaurjahari Municipality-8 of Rukum West from Jajarkot to marry his non-Dalit girlfriend.
Six people, including Nawaraj, were killed in the incident. Police are investigating the incident and the investigation committee of the Home Ministry has also made the report public.
