MP Laxmi Pariyar said that the government had failed to provide justice in the Soti incident. She said that a lantern procession was taken out in the afternoon to seek justice.

Locals had beaten up 18 people, including Nawaraj Bik, who had gone to sleep in Chaurjahari Municipality-8 of Rukum West from Jajarkot to marry his non-Dalit girlfriend.

Six people, including Nawaraj, were killed in the incident. Police are investigating the incident and the investigation committee of the Home Ministry has also made the report public.
