Directions to the Government of Women and Social Committees

The Women and Social Affairs Committee of the Federal Parliament has directed the government to create a conducive working environment for NGOs and INGOs during the post-Corona lockdown.

The committee meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday directed the government to issue necessary procedures for the cooperative mobilization of NGOs, saying that the presence of NGOs and INGOs was low in the current situation.

Similarly, the committee has directed the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens to draw the attention of the High Level Committee on Covid 19 to make the NGOs operate in a fruitful manner.

The meeting also directed the government to mobilize the non-governmental organizations and community organizations as per the needs of the state for the protection of the classified groups and the citizens of the region as per the National Disaster Response Structure 2070 BS.

Committee Chairperson, Niru Devi Pal said that there is a need to mobilize the NGOs as their performance reports have to be submitted to various agencies.

On Thursday, the committee discussed the role of NGOs in the prevention and control of corona virus. During the discussion, the representatives of NGOs and INGOs urged to increase their role.
