Janata Samajwadi Party Public Prosecutor's Complaint

Former IGP of Nepal Police Sarvendra Khanal, CPN (Maoist) leaders Mahesh Basnet and Krishna Bahadur Shrestha (farmer) have been denied bail by the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Leaders of the Janata Samajwadi Party had reached the Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday to file a complaint in the abduction case.

It has been alleged that Dr. Surendra Yadav, a JSP leader and former Minister of State for Health, was brought to Kathmandu from his home in Mahottari a few days ago.

The public prosecutor's office refused to register the complaint, saying it would take a week for the study.

Socialist leader Rajendra Mahato informed that the government prosecutor's office had come to Kathmandu to file a complaint but the tender was not accepted.

Leaders including former Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav, Rajendra Shrestha, Ashok Rai and Rajendra Mahat had reached the government prosecutor's office to register the complaint.

Earlier, the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police had refused to take a complaint of abduction.

Similarly, the CPN (Maoist) cadres had reached Baber Mahal after learning that the socialists would lodge a complaint.

They chanted slogans saying that the CPN (Maoist) was being attacked to divide the country.
