Suggestions to the government to formulate budget by giving priority to agricultural production and security

NCP leader Bhim Rawal has suggested the government to prepare the budget prioritizing agricultural production and security.

Speaking at the discussion about the budget he said that a large number of Nepali workers were returning home after losing their work due to the coronavirus pandemic and the government should be prepared  to get them involved in agriculture and should bring the ‘policy and programs’ and the budget accordingly.

He also questioned the government's inaction regarding the land encroachment by India in Lipulek, Limpiadhura and Kalapani despite regular instruction by the parliament and its committees and stressed that the safety of the citizens would not be guaranteed without securing our borders.

Adding the necessity of deploying necessary security personnel in border areas, he said that the budget should include arrangements for their logistics.

Participating in the discussion, leader of the main opposition party and former Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki claimed that the country had been able to achieve an annual economic growth of 6 percent due to the actions of the earlier government.

Leader of Rastriya Janata Party, Anil Kumar Jha said that although the policy and programs as presented by the Finance Minister sounded good in words, there were questions about its effective implementation.

Samajbadi Party leader Pradip Yadav said that the policy and program of the budget lacked a five year plan as necessary.
